Born in Malaysia in 1951 into a naval family Pippas formative years were spent traveling the world and living on the coast . At the age of 40 after a career in danceʼ she went to Ipswich Art School and then on to do a Fine Art Degree at Norwich.
Whether still life, portrait or landscape, the subject of a painting is not as important to me as the compositional possibilities and abstract qualities such as contrast, repetition and rthymn. I avoid any narrative as I want my paintings to be ʻsilentʼ
